Fashion-conscious women who embrace elegant style covet the finest designer and premium brands, yet budgets do not always accommodate the price tags. Loralei’s Boutique has carved a niche as the premiere consignment and resale destination by offering designer fashions in pristine condition at affordable prices.
After earning a fashion merchandising degree from Ohio University and managing small retail clothing stores before a 20-plus year career in advertising and marketing, Suzanne Wehrly bought Loralei’s from its founder, Laurie Westheimer in June 2018. The boutique continues to provide carefully curated clothing, handbags, shoes jewelry, outerwear and accessories, and Suzanne has added custom blended perfume, handcrafted ceramic jewelry and gifts. She also created a customer referral rewards program.
For Suzanne, owning Loralei’s Boutique allows her to return to her passion, which led her to earn a degree in fashion merchandising.
“Owning Loralei’s Boutique represents an exciting new chapter in my life,” she said. “I joke that one of my favorite sounds is the snap of the plastic tag coming off the perfect outfit. Now I can help customers create a one-of-a-kind wardrobe with luxury brands at a fraction of the cost.
Opened nine years ago, Loralei’s Boutique is housed in a century-old historic home that features 2,000 square feet of rooms stocked with designer fashion treasures, hence the shop’s slogan “Experience the thrill of the find.”
Consignment is an ideal way to recycle, Suzanne says, especially for customers whose closets are filled with clothes, shoes and/or accessories that they never or rarely use or wear.
“Designer consignment is a popular concept because, at our shop, you literally find one-of-a-kind items that are significantly less expensive than a traditional boutique,” Suzanne said. “Loralei’s Boutique is the only consignment shop in the area that focuses on designer and premium brand fashions for women. We select only the best of the best, and all items are in new or like-new condition. We also carefully authenticate all designer items so that every piece is guaranteed to be authentic.”
Loralie’s Boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and accepts consignment items until 4 p.m.
There is no fee to set up an account. For guidelines on bringing in items on consignment, visit www.loraliesboutique.com.
In 2019, Suzanne plans to add an online store to complement the current location.
