Life has dramatically changed since 2005 for Net X Computers, its founder Steven Stratton and technology as a whole. That was the year Stratton founded the business in his parents’ basement. Fast forward to today, 13 years later, and Net X Computers is poised to open a second storefront to serve north Dayton customers after seeing consistent annual growth at its store at Cross Pointe Center in Centerville.
Net X Computers recently celebrated the debut of its new location at 6389 Brandt Pike at the Huber Centre in Huber Heights.
“Over the last few years, we have seen an increasing number of customers from the northern suburbs of Dayton,” said Net X Computers general manager Zach Davidson. “The Huber Heights location will be more convenient for our north Dayton customers, and it will allow us to expand our base of business clients and home users in that region since it is geographically closer.”
When the company debuted, it was a one-person shop operated by Stratton, and most of the revenue was generated from standard computer repair for home users and general IT assistance for businesses. Word spread through referrals, employees were hired and the company moved to its first storefront. Net X Computers is an IT firm that specializes in Managed Services for businesses and provides Full Service IT (including repair and virus removal) for home users through its storefronts.
Accompanying its wide range of services for small businesses and large companies, Net X Computers has carved a niche for home users by offering a free diagnosis, and a flat rate charge for its work compared to the hourly rate structure that is standard for most competitors, Davidson explained. The $70 Saturday, when all software-related issues are addressed for a flat rate of $70, is a popular program. Net X Computers also has flat rates for custom gaming builds, and hardware installs for both new and broken hardware.
Desktops and laptops dominated the industry when Net X Computers was founded. Now, as technology continues to rapidly evolve, there are ongoing threats from hackers, scammers, viruses, spyware and ransomware. Businesses of all sizes, and customers who use computers and mobile devices for an array of tasks at home, rely on their technology to smoothly operate.
